Fire Safety Management The management of fire safety in a large or complex building can be a challenging and hugely time consuming task without a great deal of knowledge and experience. At Impact Fire Ltd we have the knowledge and experience to undertake all or part of the work for you, efficiently and economically - so that you can get on with running your business confident in the knowledge that your premises are safe and you are complying with all legal requirements. Services we can undertake for you include:- Development of a Fire routine The Fire Routine sets out the actions that should be taken by staff on discovery of a fire or on the raising of the alarm. The information provided on Fire Action Notices, which should be exhibited at conspicuous locations in the building and should state in concise terms the fire routine that has been developed. We can write prepare the fire routine for you. Provision for disabled people We will ensure that the needs of staff and visitors who may need assistance to make their way to a place of safety are considered. Depending on the provision in the particular building it may be necessary to develop a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan. (PEEP) for some people. Evacuation management Depending on the size and complexity of the building, some form of Evacuation Management will be needed to ensure that people evacuate when the evacuation alarm sounds via suitable routes to a place of safety. We can assess your existing arrangements and/or assist with the development and implementation of a new strategy. Emergency actions The emergency actions should be included in the fire routine. We can evaluate your premises and write a procedure for you that takes account of the passive and active fire safety features of your building, and assist with its implementation. Test evacuations (fire drills) These are intended to test procedures and should be carried out at least once, but preferably twice, in each twelve month period. We can carry these out on your behalf and provide you with expert feedback. Training Staff should receive adequate Fire Safety Training from a Competent Person:- a. At the time they are first employed and: b.On their being exposed to new or increased risks because whatever reason, including a change in responsibilities.
